bizAngels Scheme The bizAngels Scheme is an angel investment matching service based in Enteprising Manukau. The bizAngels Scheme has been designed to be a national scheme that has local interfaces through the Economic Development Association networks. The structure promotes Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) investment throughout New Zealand with the administration centralised within Enterprising Manukau. The scheme has two integral tools to allow it to function: - A website that has the facility to have separate portals for each region allowing for the targeting to local businesses and investors
- A database that allows for the filtering and matching of investor preferences to SMEs seeking investment
BizAngels functions under the 1978 Securities Act Exemption Notice and Code of Practice. This exemption allows the advertising to registered investors of SME shareholding for capital investment without the SME having to prepare and register a full prospectus with the Companies Office as is required under the Act. ScholarNet On Line Education Ltd, a subsidiary of Kings College is now looking for commercial investment and majority shareholding transfer. It's not often we see a commercial innovation being formed within a secondary school. This is more commonly an activity of universities, crown research organisations and incubators. ScholarNet is a business that has been developed within the Kings College School to provide more online education content as is now required in Secondary schools. Because of its further growth potential , it has been decided it is not the core business of the College and is now being taken out of the school by selling a majority share holding through an investment offering by bizAngels. ScholarNet is trading with one group of products on line and has two other newly patented products due for release.
